The Nemocón Salt Mine is a historic site that has been active since pre-Hispanic times, mined by the Muisca people long before the arrival of the Spanish. Unlike other mines that have been transformed into monumental attractions, Nemocón preserves a more authentic and lesser-known character. Inside the mine you can:
- Walk through original salt-extraction tunnels
- Learn about ancestral and colonial mining techniques
- Visit the Heart of Salt (one of the most symbolic spaces in the mine)
