How the tour works

• Hotel pickup. Your driver collects you at your Bogota hotel and delivers you into La Candelaria, where your guide starts the route.
• The salty half (about 1.5 hours). Street-vendor classics done right: the arepa and the almojabana, warm, fresh, and explained, because each one has a region and a rivalry behind it.
• The sweet half (about 1 hour). Obleas layered with arequipe, and the capital’s signature: chocolate santafereno, hot chocolate served with cheese meant to melt into it. Skeptics convert daily.
• Coffee at El Chorro (about 1.5 hours). The route ends in the Chorro de Quevedo square, the legendary founding corner of Bogota, with a proper Colombian coffee among the buskers and students.

• An honest note on dietary needs: the tastings lean on wheat, dairy, corn, and egg, which makes this route a poor fit for lactose-intolerant travelers and limited for vegetarians. If you have restrictions, note them when booking and the guide will adapt where the street allows, but we would rather tell you the limits now than disappoint you on the corner.
• Walking: plan for three-plus hours on cobblestones. Flat, comfortable shoes are not a suggestion.
• Weather and altitude: La Candelaria runs 7 to 19°C in a single day, and the city sits at 2,640 meters, so bring a layer and drink water between tastings.
