Transfer to Bogotá airport at a glance
Short answer: a private transfer from anywhere in Bogotá to El Dorado takes 15 to 70 minutes depending on your neighborhood and the hour, and costs from $49 USD per vehicle (Comfort SUV, up to 3 passengers), fixed when you book. The airport operator asks you to be at the terminal 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one; the table below turns that into a pickup time for your neighborhood. Figures checked on 22 October 2026.
| Pickup | Your hotel, apartment, Airbnb or office, anywhere in Bogotá; the driver waits at the entrance |
| Drop-off | The departures curb of your terminal at El Dorado, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (Puente Aéreo) |
| Price | From $49 USD per vehicle, not per person; fixed when you book; paid online |
| Timing | Your driver arrives ahead of your pickup time, so your service leaves on time |
| Driver details | You receive a confirmation the day before with your driver’s name, photo and plate, and a message the moment your driver is on site |
| Cancellation | Free up to 24 hours before your pickup time |
| Support | 24/7 on WhatsApp, in English and Spanish |
When to leave for your flight
The question everyone asks. Start from the airport operator’s recommendation, 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 before an international one (Avianca asks for 3 in both cases), add the drive from your neighborhood, and add 15 minutes for the bags and the elevator. That gives you a pickup time. The table is our estimate from typical drive times, not a measurement; weekday peaks are 7 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., and the roads are at their emptiest between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
| Pickup from | Drive to El Dorado | Domestic flight: pickup before departure | International flight: pickup before departure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salitre and Corferias | 15–25 min (peak 45) | 2 h 45 (peak 3 h 15) | 3 h 45 (peak 4 h 15) |
| La Candelaria and Chapinero | 35–50 min (peak 80) | 3 h (peak 3 h 30) | 4 h (peak 4 h 30) |
| Zona G and Zona T / Zona Rosa | 40–55 min (peak 85) | 3 h 15 (peak 3 h 45) | 4 h 15 (peak 4 h 45) |
| Parque de la 93 | 45–60 min (peak 90) | 3 h 15 (peak 3 h 45) | 4 h 15 (peak 4 h 45) |
| Usaquén | 50–70 min (peak 100) | 3 h 30 (peak 4 h) | 4 h 30 (peak 5 h) |
Two examples. An 8:00 a.m. flight to Miami from a hotel in Zona T on a Tuesday: that is an international departure with the drive in the morning peak, so the pickup is at 3:15 a.m. A 6:30 p.m. flight to Medellín from La Candelaria on a Saturday: domestic, no weekday peak, pickup at 3:30 p.m. If your flight is very early, the drive is the fastest of the day and the off-peak column already has margin in it. If you would rather not do the arithmetic, send us the flight and the address on WhatsApp and our team suggests a time. Our drivers’ own rule for El Dorado: on weekday mornings between 6 and 9, when Calle 26 and the Autopista Norte fill at the same time, leave earlier than the map app says; after 9 p.m. the whole city is close.
How your ride to the airport works

- Book online with your pickup address, your flight number and departure time, and the number of passengers and bags. The price is on the screen before you pay.
- Get your confirmation. You receive a confirmation the day before with your driver’s name, photo and plate, and a message the moment your driver is on site.
- Your driver is early. Your driver arrives ahead of your pickup time, so your service leaves on time. If you need a few more minutes, reply to the message.
- Bags in, doors closed, go. Air-conditioned vehicle, water on board, help with the luggage at both ends. Your driver takes the route that fits the hour, Calle 26 for most of the city, and tells you which terminal you are being dropped at.
- Out at departures. The driver stops at the departures curb of your terminal and unloads the bags at the door. Check-in and security are a few steps away.
Which terminal, and what to do before you leave the hotel
- Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Terminal 1 handles all international flights and most domestic ones; Terminal 2, the former Puente Aéreo, is a separate building on Calle 26 for some domestic flights. Your boarding pass or the airline app says which. Tell us at booking, or tell the driver, and you are dropped at the right building; a free bus links the two if plans change.
- Check-MIG for international flights. Migración Colombia’s free pre-registration is not mandatory in 2026 but it shortens the immigration line and ends any discussion at the counter. Do it between 72 hours and 1 hour before departure; our Check-MIG guide takes five minutes.
- Cash and cards. You will not need pesos for the ride, it is paid online, but have your passport out and your boarding pass on your phone before the car stops; the departures curb is for stopping, not waiting.
Transfer, taxi, ride app or TransMilenio to the airport
| Option | What to expect | Cost (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Safe Transfers private transfer | Driver at your door ahead of time, fixed price in writing, help with bags, drop-off at your terminal, 24/7 team | From $49 USD per vehicle |
| Taxi | Metered under Decreto 042 de 2026: $4.500 to start, $159 per 100 m or 24 seconds, $8.000 airport surcharge in both directions, $3.800 extra 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on Sundays and holidays. Ask the hotel to call one rather than hailing in the street at 4 a.m. | About COP 36.000–45.000 (USD 11–14) from Chapinero or the center in normal traffic, our estimate from the tariff |
| Ride apps (Uber, DiDi, Cabify, inDrive) | Drop-offs at departures are simple; the difficulty is getting a car at 4 a.m. or on a Sunday evening, when surge pricing is highest and drivers are fewest | Varies with demand |
| TransMilenio | The K86 along Calle 26 and the 16-14 feeder from Portal El Dorado reach Terminal 1; the first buses run from 4:30 to 6:00 a.m. depending on the day. Fine with light bags in daytime; not an option for a 6 a.m. flight with the recommended margin | COP 3.550 per trip |
